Rev. Meghan Davis is thrilled to be the pastor at Longview Presbyterian Church—a little church with a big heart—and excited about future ministry with the members and friends of LPC in the church and in the community.
Meghan was born and lived the first 18 years of her life in Taos, NM. Having grown up in the Presbyterian church, she went to the College of Wooster in Ohio, with a vague intention of becoming a pastor, or doctor, or lawyer, or actress, or… She ended up majoring in comparative literature, minoring in Russian studies and theatre and spent a semester in Krasnodar, Russia. Meghan then went to Ohio University where studied to become a dramaturg (don’t worry, no one else knows what a dramaturg is either, but she’s happy to explain for any who wants to know) and earned an MA in theatre history and criticism. She spent a few years as a theatre “gypsy” working in theatres throughout the country and Singapore.
But God had different plans for Meghan… While still working the theatre circuit (and various “day jobs”) she was called to ministry and (eventually) began her studies at San Francisco Theological Seminary. In addition to academics, Meghan’s seminary experience included being a chaplain’s assistant at SFTS, internship at Covenant Presbyterian Church in Napa, and doing her clinic pastoral education (CPE) at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. Meghan graduated from SFTS in 2007 and was a Pastoral Assistant at her home church, First Presbyterian Church of Oakland, California, prior to coming to Longview, Washington, in February 2009. Meghan was ordained at First Presbyterian in Oakland in January 2009.
Meghan’s family consists of her mother, a pastor in LA; her sister, brother-in-law and nephews live in Sacramento; and her father and his wife live in New Mexico.
